Traditional Roofing

A traditional roof is where timbers are individually cut and assembled onsite. This is to ensure the load of the roof is evenly applied to the walls below. The rafters are the main load bearing elements of this roof

Roof Tiles

Truss Roofing

A trussed roofing is a permanent, structural framework, made of timber, which is specifically designed to bridge the space above the roof to provide maximum ventilation and support. This is made off-site and is loaded onto the frame by a crane.

1st & 2nd Fix Joinery

First fix joinery is structural work including roof struts, wall studding, framing and joists.

Second fix joinery is the work that happens after plastering such as door hanging, skirting boards and architrave.

Re-roof

A re-roof involves replacing all roofing elements such as tiles, felt and battens and replacing with new pressure treated battens and a breathable membrane.

A facia is an architectural term for a vertical band under a roofs edge which forms a visible, outside surface.

A soffit is an architectural feature which is used to protect the rafters.
